Under new ownership, Austin Texas cigar lounge Cigar Vault East has rebranded as Overton's, honoring Austin hometown World War II hero and cigar enthusiast Richard Arvin Overton.
Overton was born on May 11, 1906. When he passed away December 27, 2018 he was 112 years old, making him the oldest verified U.S. World War II veteran and oldest verified man in the United States.
He was also a known cigar enthusiast and was frequently featured in the news.
As a cigar enthusiast, it has been reported that Overton would sometimes smoke a dozen cigars per day. This continued well past his 112th birthday.
The revamped lounge includes upgraded humidor selections, refreshed interiors, and a revitalized backyard designed for community-driven cigar experiences.
The outside of the shop features a large mural of Richard Arvin Overton, celebrating his legacy and connection to Austin.

Featuring RoMa Craft Tobac, whiskey with Still Austin Master Distiller Emiliano Guajardo, beer from Blue Owl Brewing and Hi Sign Brewing, as well as live music, food, and raffles.
